Hand Block Printed Sarees - Bagru & Sanganer Craft - Rajasthan

The Art of Hand Block Printing from Rajasthan

At The Street Pal, every saree begins with a block and a hand. Sourced directly from master artisans in Bagru and Sanganer - two of Rajasthan's most storied printing towns - our hand block printed sarees carry centuries of craft in every repeat, every colour, every fold. No two pieces are exactly alike. That's not a flaw. That's the point.

Our Saree Fabrics - Chosen for Quality & Drape

We work with a handpicked range of premium fabrics, each suited to different seasons, occasions, and sensibilities:

  • Mul Cotton - Ultra-soft, sheer, and breathable. A summer essential.
  • Linen Cotton - Crisp texture, earthy feel. Effortless everyday elegance.
  • Chanderi Silk - Lightweight silk with a natural sheen and delicate drape. Perfect for festive wear.
  • Kota Doriya - Featherlight silk-cotton weave from Kota, Rajasthan. Known for its signature khat check texture.
  • Maheshwari Silk - Woven in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Reversible border, fine zari, and a rich yet supple hand.
  • Modal Satin - Smooth, lustrous, and fluid. A contemporary fabric with a luxurious drape.

Our Printing Traditions - Craft You Can See and Feel

Each saree is printed using one or more of these time-honoured techniques:

  • Hand Block Printing - Traditional carved wooden blocks, pressed by hand. Geometric, floral, and heritage motifs rooted in Rajasthani design vocabulary.
  • Dabu / Mud Resist Printing - A Bagru specialty. Clay-based resist paste applied before dyeing creates earthy, organic patterns with a matte finish.
  • Batik - Wax-resist dyeing that produces fine crackle textures and fluid, artistic designs.
  • Dabu Indigo - Dabu resist combined with natural indigo dyeing. Deep blues, raw texture, timeless appeal.
  • Shibori / Tie-Dye - Japanese-origin resist technique rendered through Indian craft hands. Creates fluid, abstract patterns through folding, binding, and clamping.
